Dual-Action Medium Scotch-Brite
What’s the process?
After all sharp edges and burrs have been removed, a medium Scotch-Brite pad is placed on a dual-action orbital sander and applied to all components prior to forming and welding.
What are the benefits?
This finish used on all of SSL Industries’ products to (a) exceed the Ra required by the USDA for food contact surfaces, and (b) mask small scratches and wear that occurs over time from normal use in production.
Average Roughness, or Ra, is the most commonly specified surface texture parameter. It provides a general measure of the height of the texture across a surface. More exactly, Ra is the average of how far each point on the surface deviates in height from the mean height.
